Isaiah 9:6

Elementary Version

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called wonderful counselor, mighty God, everlasting Father, prince of peace.

4-5 Year Version

For to us a child is born, and his name shall be . . . wonderful counselor, mighty God, everlasting Father, prince of peace.

0-3 Year Version

Jesus is the prince of peace.

New City Catechisms for the Month

Our kids are encouraged to go through the New City Catechisms for Kids – one catechism question to memorize per week.

April 5 | Question 14

Question: Did God create us unable to keep his law?

Answer: No, but because of the disobedience of Adam and Eve we are all born in sin and guilt, unable to keep God’s law.

April 12 | Question 15

Question: Since no one can keep the law, what is its purpose?

Answer: That we may know the holy nature of God, and the sinful nature of our hearts; and thus our need of a Savior.

April 19 | Question 16

Question: What is sin?

Answer: Sin is rejecting or ignoring God in the world he created, no being or doing what he requires in his law.

April 26 | Question 17

Question: What is idolatry?

Answer: Idolatry is trusting in created things rather than the Creator.
